Lahore University of management Sciences, which is also referred to as LUMS, has now opened applications of its National outreach program 2026, popularly referred to as NOP. This program is aimed at helping the talented students in the entire Pakistan with good academic prospects and low financial means.

Under the NOP program, students are able to get full-funded scholarships that are included in the tuition fees and other financial support. It is aimed at making sure that deserving students are enabled to access higher education in one of the best universities in Pakistan without having to bother about the financial aspect.

What is the National Outreach Program (NOP)?

National Outreach Program (NOP) is a special scholarship program designed by the LUMS to find exceptional students in other parts of Pakistan and give them academic preparations, mentorship, and financial assistance.

The program targets students with high academic capability and leadership potential but are unable to cover the cost of higher education.

Key Benefits of the NOP Program

    • 100% scholarship coverage for selected students
    • Academic preparation through Summer Coaching Sessions
    • Guidance from experienced faculty and mentors
    • Financial assistance for admission test registration
    • Opportunity to study at a world-class university

The program will support the equality in the educational opportunities provided to the students with different socioeconomic backgrounds.

    Eligibility Criteria for NOP 2026

Students interested in applying for the NOP scholarship must meet the following requirements:

    • Must have at least 80% marks in Matriculation or O-Levels
    • Should demonstrate strong academic performance
    • Must have limited financial resources to pursue higher education independently
    • Should show motivation and commitment to higher education

Applicants in 2026 are usually those who are already in first year of Intermediate or A-Levels and expect to enter university in Fall, 2027.

Application Process for the NOP Program

The application is divided into various steps that are set to assess the academic capability and promise of the students.

Step 1 – Online Application for NOP

Eligible students must submit their application through the NOP online portal.

Applications should be completed while students are in first year of Intermediate or A-Levels.

    The application includes:

    • Personal information
    • Academic records
    • Financial background details
    • Supporting documents

Step 2 – Summer Coaching Session

Shortlisted students are invited to attend a Summer Coaching Session at LUMS.

This program is held during summer holidays and provides:

    • Academic preparation for university admission
    • Exposure to campus life
    • Guidance from faculty members

A great majority of the costs incurred in the coaching session are met by LUMS but students normally have to take care of their travelling expenses.

Attendance of this session does not assure them an entry into the university, but it goes a long way in preparing them to apply to the university.

Step 3 – Admission Test Registration

Those students who pass the coaching session are given further assistance.

LUMS pays one admission test registration fee and students can apply to undergraduate programs without straining their wallet.

Step 4 – LUMS Admission Application

Following the coaching period, students will be required to have a formal application of application in case they want to be admitted to the LUMS undergraduate admissions portal.

NOP scholarships can be given to applicants with the required maintenance of the admission conditions and academic excellence during the undergraduate study.

    Undergraduate Programs Available at LUMS

Students who are chosen under the NOP program are allowed to apply in undergraduate programs that are provided in different schools under LUMS.

School of Humanities and Social Sciences

    Programs include:

    • BA (Hons) English
    • History
    • Comparative Literature and Creative Arts
    • Anthropology
    • Sociology

    Why the NOP Program Matters

The National Outreach Program is significant in the increase of access to higher education in Pakistan.

A lot of bright students living in rural and low-income families cannot get access to the best universities because of the financial restrictions. Such programs as NOP are designed to eliminate these obstacles and to make sure that academic talent is not overlooked based on financial abilities.

LUMS contributes to assisting students in reaching their educational and professional aspirations by offering scholarships and mentorship as well as academic preparation services.

LUMS National Outreach Program (NOP) 2026 is a life changing program to talented students in the whole of Pakistan whose dream is to get an opportunity to study in one of the most prestigious universities in the country.

Having full scholarship provisions, academic coaching and mentorships, the program is such that the students who deserve good higher education are not barred due to financial constraints.

The students who qualify are urged to apply early and be ready to the selection process.
