The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore is doing away with paper result cards starting with the 2026 annual examinations. Both Matric and Intermediate students, regular and private, will now receive digital result cards instead.
Under the new system, PDF result cards will be issued immediately after results are announced. Regular students can download theirs through their institution’s online portal, while private candidates will get theirs directly from the BISE Lahore website.
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said the digital cards will carry QR codes along with security features, giving them the same legal standing as the original paper-based result cards. He added that the documents will be valid for admissions, jobs, scholarships, and equivalence purposes, with no extra attestation required.
Institutions have been directed to print the digital result cards on 100-gram coloured paper before handing them to students, and to accept them for all official and academic purposes without raising objections.
The move is meant to cut down on paperwork, prevent delays, and reduce the risk of forged result cards that have occasionally circulated under the older system.
