The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has formally declared the Combined Entrance Test (CET) 2026 which is a compulsory exam to become one of the four-year undergraduate programs in Punjab. The announcement is a very important update to students intending to apply to engineering, computing and other related fields in the public sector universities that are affiliated to UET.
The CET 2026 which is a computer based examination will be held between 30 March and 3 April, 2026 according to the official notification. The test will be taken on the date, time and test center as per the admit cards that will be given to the candidates. Students should take it as a routine to consult official updates to keep abreast with any change in relation to entrance test.
CET 2026 : Important Test Information
Eligibility requires the Combined Entrance Test which is compulsory but passing the test does not necessarily mean admission. The admissions will be based on merit after taking into consideration the CET scores, academic records and preferences of the program.
The test will have 100 questions in the form of multiple choice questions each having 4 marks. No negative marking will be made and no minimum pass mark which will ensure that each candidate will have his score counted in calculating merit.
The curriculum is founded on courses at Intermediate (FSc) level and the subjects used in the test will vary on the academic program chosen. Such subjects can be Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, Computer Science, and Statistics.
Test Centers Across Punjab
In order to make it easy to the candidates in other regions, UET Lahore has opened the test centers in several cities such as:
Lahore, Multan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Narowal, Sargodha, Rahim Yar Khan, Taxila and Gujrat.
During online registration, the applicants are required to choose their desired test center. The test center, once selected is final and cannot be changed at all and this means that the candidates should be careful with their choice.
Application Deadline and Fee
The test fee should be applied and submitted by the latest date 22 March 2026. The entrance test fee has been pegged at the sum of Rs. 3,000 that is to be paid before the deadline to ascertain registration.
The downloading and printing of admit cards will be done in the evening of 24 March 2026 and CET 2026 results will be available on 17 April 2026.
Required Documents on Test Day
On the day of the test, the original documents should be carried by the candidates. The following are the acceptable documents:
CNIC or Juvenile CNIC
Original Matric or Intermediate certificate
Passport
NADRA-issued Form-B with photograph
Late arrivals will not be given an opportunity to enter the examination hall and therefore, punctuality is of the essence.
Student Facilitation and Support
UET Lahore has also made the facility of facilitation to those students who require assistance with printing of application forms or admit cards. The hours within which these services will be provided will be 19 January to 16 March 2026 during official working hours.
