Eight schools in the United Arab Emirates united in an emotional musical celebration in a time of regional insecurity to pay tribute to the educators in a major show of solidarity and optimism. The performance was called The UAE Resilience Project and was organized at Dubai Folklore Theatre and featured the power of community with music.
A Message of Hope Through Music
The concert was introduced with a classic song by Bob Marley Three Little Birds, which predetermined a message of hope and support.
The song, which included the lyrics of Don’t worry about a thing, cause every little thing will be alright, was very emotional as the song resonated with the performers and the audience at the time when there was war and uncertainty.
Teachers Unite Beyond Classrooms
The teachers that participated in the event were 18 in total and they represented various institutions within the GEMS Education network.
- Some were music teachers
- Others taught subjects like science, mathematics, and languages
- Many met each other in person for the first time
They all had a common objective, to spread the message of hope and unity with the help of music, although they had different backgrounds.
