It is reported according to official announcements that on Wednesday, February 4, a public holiday will be celebrated due to the Shab-e-Barat. Schools and other appropriate governmental departments will continue shutting so that the citizens can engage themselves in the religious prayers and night-long services in connection with the event.

Thursday, February 5, has also been declared by the provincial government as a public holiday to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day, yearly to show solidarity and support with the citizens of the Indian occupied Kashmir. Such holidays will be accepted on few industries and organizations according to the official directions, especially in the areas where Basant is controlled.
