There has been heavy snowfall in Murree and this has influenced the traffic authorities to come up with a new advisory to tourists intending to visit the hill station. As the roads are becoming slippy and the weather turning out to be worse, the authorities have asked the travelers not to make unnecessary travels and to adhere to the rules of safety to avoid accidents and road jamming.

Snowfall Raises Safety Concerns in Murree

It has been reported that there has been continuous snowfall in different areas of Murree which has had a great impact on the roads. The City Traffic Police has cited that snow on the roads leads to the possibility of skidding, breakdowns of road vehicles as well as increased traffic jams which endanger both the tourists and the local residents.

Imran Razaq, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) has also asked tourists to monitor weather forecasts and traffic conditions in advance to begin their journey. He pointed out that unpredictable weather changes can cause driving in hilly places to be very dangerous.

    Extra Traffic Wardens Deployed

As a solution to the situation, more traffic wardens have been deployed at strategic points where people come in and out of Murree. These are officers who are directing cars, regulating traffic and managing the emergencies.

The authorities said that CTO Imran Razaq is personally observing the traffic facilities in the field to see that there is free flow and safety of the people in the harsh winter.

    Important Guidelines for Tourists

In the recent traffic warning, the tourists visiting Murree during snowfalls have been advised to observe the following safety precautions:

    • Use only fully equipped four-wheel-drive vehicles for better control on snow-covered roads.
    • Keep fuel tanks full to avoid problems during traffic jams or road closures.
    • Avoid over-speeding, as it is a major cause of accidents in snowy conditions.
    • Maintain proper tire pressure to ensure better road grip.
    • Do not park in no-parking zones to prevent road blockages.
    • Never create double lanes, as this often leads to complete traffic paralysis.
    • Follow all instructions given by on-duty traffic wardens.

    Why This Advisory Matters

During snowfalls, Murree experiences extreme traffic jams because it is not well planned, and the participants of the drivers show insensitivity. The authorities assume that the majority of those problems can be eliminated when the travelers pay attention to the recommendations, organize their traveling, and drive attentively.

The advisory is meant to reduce accidents and provide smooth traffic flow and save lives in times of peak snowfalls.

What to Expect in the Coming Days

Traffic police will remain on high alert of weather conditions. In case of the increase of snowfall, additional warnings can be provided, and some roads can be closed or limited to travel to protect people.

Prior to and during traveling, tourists are encouraged to keep in touch with the official channels to get up to date information.

    Conclusion

Snowfall makes Murree beautiful yet it is very dangerous. Adhering to traffic advice, driving the right vehicles and working in collaboration with road police will enable tourists to avoid accidents and also make sure that their traveling is safer and more secure. The main factors in having a safe winter trip to Murree are responsible behavior and patience.
